SO the Paranormal Project team has been out and about again, this time at the Story Bridge Hotel.
To say there is a lot of history inside those walls would be an understatement.
According to www.storybridgehotel.com.au it was built in 1886 and named the Kangaroo Point Hotel.
It was re-named The Story Bridge hotel in 1940 to coincide with the actual opening of The Story Bridge.
Bought by the Deery family in 1967, the three-storey hotel soon became the ‘village pub’ to the residents of Kangaroo Point.
The Story Bridge Hotel has many nooks and crannies to explore, including an original bomb shelter, complete with graffiti (hidden until recently and now protected) as well as a cellar.
So the Paranormal Project Team was keen to take up this challenge (last weekend Sunday February 15) and we had a few special guests come along for the ride.
We broke up into two groups and set off to explore different parts of the building. For the first time we had access to a new piece of equipment called the Ovilus (pictured below courtesy of www.ghoststop.com) . This gadget converts energy into words, making it easier for the spirit to get his or her point across in an easier to understand way.
At one point during the evening Amanda De Warren (medium and animal communicator) connected with the spirit of a young lady she believed was named Mary. Mary explained that she had been murdered in the Hotel and her body had been dumped in the Brisbane River.
Then I walked in the room and Amanda asked if I could pick up on the spirit of her killer? The second I walked in the room I felt off balance, I began swaying from side to side and folded both of my hands neatly over my belly (I felt like I had a big beer gut) and I found my mouth form into a sneer. We gathered from this that he had been drunk (possibly an alcoholic) when the crime was carried out.
Amanda told us that Mary was terrified of speaking in front of this man, so Mark (PP investigator) asked if he should leave the room and there was an immediate reaction on the K2 machine (pictured below courtesy of www.ghoststop.com) which picks up Electromagnetic Frequencies.
Mary was giving us very strong and pretty immediate responses. We had many words also come through via the Ovilus. While asking Mary about how she was killed the word “tie” rang out in the room, which made us wonder if she had a “tie” placed around her neck?
We did get some good detail through about the sordid situation but I don’t want to go into too much detail here. I will say though that the alleged killer communicated to me that “she deserved everything she got and he would do it all again”. He also indicated to me that he had been her superior, so possibly a Hotel Manager. Mary had been too scared to speak out. Amanda also got the feeling that she may have been pregnant when she was murdered.
The other interesting development during the evening happened when I walked into a room behind the bar (on the second floor) and heard a voice say to me “sit down and enjoy the show” I found myself being guided to a large red furry round seat. When I sat down I had images of women dressed in tight corsets with feathers in their hair. The words Moulin Rouge popped into my head and I could see men lounging around smoking cigars and enjoying the entertainment. I walked out of the room and told the Manager what I’d seen and she responded that they throw Moulin Rouge parties in that room (hence the big red curtain that was tied back). I felt like I was looking back into the past though (largely due to the cigars). I can still hear the giggling and see the flirtatious behaviour.
All in all it was a very interesting night, hopefully this gives you something to think about if you ever visit the Story Bridge Hotel (pictured courtesy of www.thetraveltart.com.
